Notes from the board meeting-
OCTMA Officers and Board members welcome two new members to the Board, Ed Cunliff and Mary Taylor.
A great big THANK YOU to Therese Matthews for her service as Secretary to the Board. Therese has moved to Tulsa to be closer to her parents and has had to resign her position as Secretary.
Needed: A Greeter/Membership person or persons to welcome members and guests and collect member dues and donations. This is an important task and your help will be appreciated.
Have you noticed? OCTMA is placing an ad in the Gazette in the Music ads to invite potential members to our group. We have had response to the ad and intend to continue the once-a-month add.
With the return of "Different Roads" to KCSC, the Board has voted to reinstate financial support to our local public radio, KCSC. Support of this radio show will give us additional exposure to the listening public about our music association.
Global Oklahoma, a wonderful yearly event at Oscar Rose College, Mid West City, is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our music association is planning to operate a booth at this event and is seeking volunteers to work the booth and tell participants what our association does. Flyers will be available to ‘pass-outs’.
Plans are underway to sponsor a concert by Cathy Barton and Dave Para on Saturday, December 8, 2007. The most likely venue for this event will be Fellowship Hall, Village Christian Church. Concert details to be announced later. Please put this event on your calendar and invite your friends and potential new members.
If you would like a copy of the OCTMA member directory and you are a current member, please send $1.25 to cover envelope and postage to: Ray Haines, 18328 Tambor Drive , Edmond , OK 73003-0662 .
