PLEASE COME 15 MINUTES EARLY
- everyone needs time to tune up, meet each other, ask questions,
pass out sheet music, and get comfortable.
Please don't jam in the hall during workshops.
Some workshops have no instructor. Come anyway,
meet other musicians, bring 10 copies of your favorite song,
and have some fun! Think about
becoming a workshop leader yourself.

PLAYAROUND
Following the workshops, many of us gather in the auditorium and take turns
playing a tune for the group. Look for the sign-up sheet outside the door.
Some of the pros got their start right here. It's a comfortable feeling
playing for friends, knowing they
don't expect you to be Chet Atkins, and then applauding as if you
were. No one ever makes a mistake on our stage.
JAM SESSIONS
After the playaround, folks spontaneously gather in small groups throughout the
building and make music until the building closes around midnight. People find
their own levels. You can be the hotdogger leading a group on a fast tune,
or off to the side with a friend who is also just getting started.
Jam sessions are good experience for the intermediate player, to be exposed to
the sometimes wild and wooly fast playing styles you're likely to encounter at
the big festivals.
