TRADITIONS
The Oklahoma Traditions is the OCTMA demonstration and performance group. The Traditions was formed to perform and demonstrate at public functions the rich tradition of American and Celtic music which OCTMA is dedicated to preserve and promote. The Traditions have regularly performed at the Arts Festival Oklahoma, the Oklahoma State Fair, the Rose State College, Global Oklahoma Fest, and at other fairs, festivals, and special events.

Not only performers, the members of the Traditions are also ambassadors for the cause of traditional music and for the OCTMA. The audience is informed about the OCTMA and encouraged to attend a club meeting to share in our music and friendship. After each performance the audience is invited on the stage to get a closer look at the instruments and to learn more about our music.

All OCTMA members are eligible to volunteer for The Oklahoma Traditions. The group is a means to improve musicanship as individuals and group members, and to enjoy the rewards of public performance. While not a professional group, the Traditions is nevertheless an amateur group with high standards and a strong sense of commitment among all members.

The group normally practices once a month (2 hours on a Sunday afternoon) at a location in the Oklahoma City area. For additional information about joining The Oklahoma Traditions or scheduling a performance, please E-mail Nancy Cain at fiddler53@aol.com
